Chinese premium brands: how to choose by design, materials and construction
Anfulu / 16 October 2026

If you are searching for Chinese luxury or premium brands, start by asking what makes a particular piece worth owning. A high price or a country of origin does not answer that. At Anfulu, the useful comparisons are in the cloth, leather, hardware, fragrance format and the designer’s decisions. This guide covers examples from our selection; it is not a league table of China’s luxury industry.
Consider construction alongside the material
Explore Double Happiness for woven cloth and bamboo handles, or TENERA for softer everyday bags.
Ask what the cultural reference actually changes
A cultural story is useful when it explains the object. Double Happiness puts its motif into the fabric. DOCUMENTS describes a bottle form based on mortise-and-tenon joinery. Read the product details and editorial context together. Avoid treating a motif as proof that a piece uses a particular historic technique unless the brand documents it.
Buy within the category you care about
If scent matters most, sample when a discovery format is available. If you need an everyday bag, check the opening, weight information and strap details before being persuaded by a close-up of leather. For jewelry, confirm the metal and stone listed for the exact piece. These decisions are more useful than whether a retailer calls everything luxury.
Does Chinese brand mean made entirely in China?
No. Brand identity, design location, component origins and final manufacture are different facts. Some products in our selection list Italian leather or fabric, while Double Happiness bag listings state that they are made in Shanghai. Use the product’s own specification for an origin claim; do not infer it for a whole brand.
