You want a perfume that feels different from the bottles you already know. Chinese perfume is a place to look, but a country is not a scent family. Start with the smells you reach for, then find the brand and the bottle that take them somewhere new.

If you like woods
DOCUMENTS Inter Cedar lists cypress, cardamom and mugwort at the opening, with cedarwood, patchouli and cypriol at the base. To Summer Kunlun Snow, also sold in English as Cedarwood, pairs juniper and cypress with cedarwood, amber and guaiac wood. Compare those notes if woods are your usual starting point. Neither list tells you exactly how the scent will develop on your skin.
If you like florals, fruit or a softer musk
Summer Palace Osmanthus brings osmanthus together with peach, bitter orange and a white-musk base. DOCUMENTS First Fruit lists lime, green peach and gardenia. Candles, diffusers and incense are separate choices for a room. Start with fragrance and incense if that is what you want. Do not use diffuser oils or incense as perfume on the skin.
